Why Finding Life Purpose Is Key
Discovering your life’s purpose means that you get to live each day with passion and clear intention, knowing that your purpose in life is being fulfilled.
So why is this important? This is important because people are waiting for you to show up; as your authentic, real, and creative self to share your experience strength and hope with them.
You are doing yourself a disservice by not being everything that you could be. Every time you say “yeah I’ll get to it tomorrow” or “no, I’m not really sure that this is what I really want to do”. You are feeding the excuses. STOP IT!
If you just took fifteen minutes out of your day and spend that time doing what makes you happy, you would be that much closer to your dream. Many of us are waking up to the reality that we are not living our life to the fullest, we experience excitement and joy in certain parts of our life and in other areas it’s flat out lacking.
If you are life many of us, your dream doesn’t just fall into your lap overnight. So let me help you get a little more clarity with my process. The process is to help you rediscover who you really are and what you really want to accomplish in this life. You can spend as much time on it as you want and be as thoughtful as you want. Below I have a simplified outline of what I do with my clients in sneak peek version. So let’s get started!
Start with a vision of where are you see yourself in a year from now. Visualize yourself with nothing is holding you back. If you could be anywhere doing anything, where and what would you be doing? Who would you surround yourself with? How is this future be different from where you are now?
Jot down some ideas.
Next we’re going to use six categories and break down where you want to see yourself in a year from now. The categories are as followed:
Relationships
Career/business
Money/finance
Recreation
Health/well-being
Education
*Be sure to write it out in present tense, focus on using I am statements.
What do you have all this written out, read this out loud to yourself for 30 days. Don’t let it bother you, if something doesn’t feel right or you’re not as passionate about it, simply remove it or rewrite it.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
- Pablo Picasso
